French energy group Engie and US utility AES Corporation have agreed to use an LNG import terminal in Panama as a hub for marketing and sales throughout Central America.
The 1.5 mtpa Costa Norte LNG project and an on-site 380 MW CCGT are currently under construction by a joint venture between AES and Panama-based investor Inversiones Bahia in the central north port city of Colon on the Caribbean coast.
