The European Regulators Group for Electricity and Gas (ERGEG) is hoping to approve on June 10 a finalised version of the framework guideline intended to harmonise the terms of gas transport capacity allocation under the European Union’s (EU) third energy package. “We are close to finishing the framework guidelines,” a spokeswoman told Gas Matters Today on Thursday. The move forms part of the EU’s efforts to standardise access to pipeline transport capacity across the 27-block, and establish legally-binding rules to better deal with contractual congestion, still deemed a major obstacle for new entrants into the gas market.
