In late October 2016, ten German gas industry associations published a two-page letter with the title: “The gas industry’s plea for the Climate Protection Plan 2050: Decarbonisation with gas. Gas can green!”
Organised by industry association BDEW, the core sentence of the plea was: “Gas is the only fossil fuel flexible enough to not only partner with renewable energy but go green itself”.
