More gas storage 'key to EU energy security' – Snam CEO

Italian gas infrastructure specialist Snam has called for renewed interest in gas storage capacity across Europe to guarantee security of supply and insulate against price shocks during turbulent periods.

CEO Marco Alvera said shifting energy flows across the continent place greater onus on governments to underwrite new strategic reserves of gas to hedge against market volatility.
