The Netherlands has agreed to limit production from the country’s largest gas field Groningen to 24 Bcm/year until 2021, subject to annual reviews.
The production limit is 11% lower than the last 27 Bcm/year cap introduced in November 2015 and will come into force from next month. State mining watchdog SSM and other bodies will participate in reviews the government said.
