US shipper Matson Navigation Company this week ordered four dual-fuel containerships, while Finnish firm Containerships is seeking EU funding for a tentative order for two LNG-powered vessels.
Matson ordered two ships to carry goods to the US island state of Hawaii worth a combined USD 511 million from UK-based General Dynamics. The pair will run on marine fuel and LNG and are scheduled for delivery in late 2019 and mid-2020, the company said.
