Papua New Guinea’s 6.9 mtpa LNG plant is close to completion at 95% readiness, with commissioning underway and the first cargo still due to be shipped in Q3 of this year. But plans for a second LNG plant on the island nation have been thrown into doubt by the audacious swoop of Oil Search on coveted upstream assets sought by both project developers.
