China’s three state-owned major oil and gas companies, CNPC, CNOOC and Sinopec, dominate the country’s natural gas exploration, production and marketing business. Following on from our analysis on whether China’s pipeline imports and domestic production will displace its LNG imports [1], Gas Strategies reviews the LNG activities and strategies of these companies and the role they will play in the import of LNG to help meet China’s target of doubling the share of natural gas in primary energy consumption.
