Since visual_editor009, LNG buyers in Asia have committed to nearly 100 mtpa of LNG supply from new projects in the Pacific basin, the US and Russia and from LNG aggregators, many of whom have committed to new supply from the same sources. Some of the buyers that have made large commitments to new supply are finding that they have over-committed. Gas Strategies considers how buyers are dealing with the over-commitment and the outlook for demand as oil-linked LNG prices, which are still the main way in which LNG is priced in Asia, are set to fall to their lowest level since visual_editor009.
