Canada’s federal government approved the proposed 12 mtpa Pacific NorthWest (PNW) LNG export project in British Columbia this week, moving the project one step closer to taking a final investment decision (FID).
Approval of the project led by Malaysian state-affiliated Petronas is subject to 190 separate environmental requirements aimed at minimising “adverse effects on fish, fish habitat, marine mammals, wetlands, migratory birds and human health” and other impacts.
