TransCanada’s decision to cut transport tariffs on the Canadian Mainline pipeline could trigger a price war between domestic producers and shale players in the prolific Marcellus and Utica shale plays in the US, experts told Gas Matters Today.
Alternatively, US firms may redouble efforts to export LNG from the US east coast in order to open new markets for output from Marcellus and Utica, sources familiar with the region said.
