Oil and Gas Methane Partnership (OGMP) members BP, Eni, Statoil, Total and others have begun taking preliminary steps to mitigate unwanted methane emissions from their operations, but much work remains, the body’s first annual report said.
Together with fellow participants Repsol, Pemex, PTT and Southwestern Energy, the OGMP accounts for around 10% of global gas production. However, only three firms reported lower methane emissions in 2015.
