European gas demand will recover in the next few years, as the COP21 climate deal takes effect and Europe diversifies its supply routes, Marco Alvara, CEO of Italian grid operator Snam, told Gas Matters Today in London this week.
Responding to a question at a press event on Monday, Alvara said he believed that renewable energy will turn out to be less effective than anticipated and once the Paris Agreement comes into force, gas will play a major role in the fight against climate change.
