Iraqi Kurdistan remains key to diversifying Turkey’s gas supply, but many political and infrastructure challenges must first be addressed, speakers said at the CWC Kurdistan-Iraq Oil and Gas conference in London on Tuesday.
Turkey relies on imported gas to cover 99% of demand and is keen to increase flows from Iraqi Kurdistan, but Turkey’s immediate focus is on the Trans Anatolian Pipeline from the border with Georgia and Turk Stream pipeline project from Russia, said Turkish foreign minister Esra Grajover.
