The Petronas-led Pacific Northwest LNG (PNW LNG) export project on the west coast of Canada faces a fresh legal challenge from a First Nations group, which seeks to overturn central government approval for the proposed 12 mtpa plant.
The lawsuit filed the Gitxsan First Nation claims that the group was not properly consulted on the British Columbia-based liquefaction project. The latest motion is the fourth by an indigenous Canadian group, but the first lodged by an inland tribe.
