Italian utility Edison has presented a study to the EU energy directorate on the technical and commercial viability of the proposed 16 Bcm/year subsea EastMed pipeline that would transport gas produced in Israel and Cyprus to Europe, according to media reports.
Edison’s study – also presented to representatives from Cyprus, Greece, Israel and Italy – estimated the full 1,300 km project would cost USD 6 billion, news sources said.
