Canadian distributor Gaz Metro has tripled the capacity of its small-scale Montreal liquefaction plant in a bid to gain market share in the neighbouring US market of New England.
Subsidiary Gaz Metro LNG said the boost from 3 Bcf to 9 Bcf/year gives it “an increased capacity to deliver LNG to local distribution companies, industries, and other customers in the north-east US” – in addition to serving “robust” demand for LNG in the company’s home province of Quebec.
