Brent crude broke through the USD 50/barrel barrier for the first time since early June and prices continue to rise amid falling stockpiles and a weakening currency in the US.
Front-month futures settled at a six-week high of USD 50.20/barrel on Tuesday and have maintained an upward trajectory, testing levels above the USD 51/barrel mark on Thursday morning.
