Gas will become the “largest energy carrier” globally from 2033 but both conventional onshore and offshore gas production will start declining from 2020, according to a new report by Oslo-based DNV GL.
Production decline is linked to a forecast peak in world primary energy supply, which the company predicts will happen before 2030.
