Total to step up West of Shetlands projects following UK tax breaks

French oil and gas giant Total is expected to make an investment decision by the end of March to develop the Laggan and Tormore gas fields in the West of Shetlands region, after the Chancellor Alistair Darling introduced long-awaited tax breaks last month for companies active on the UK Continental Shelf.
