Total eyes further shale gas acquisitions at global level

Following Total's US joint venture with Chesapeake Energy in the Barnett Shale play in North Texas, Total says it is looking to get involved in shale gas projects in other parts of the world. The French major has purchased acreage in central France and is interested in further deals in Europe, South America, and North Africa.
