EU Parliament committee adopts regulation on security of supply
Proposed legislation for a regulation on the security of gas supply at a European level was finally adopted on Thursday with overwhelming majority by the European Parliament’s committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE). Following the gas standoff between Russia and Ukraine in January 2009, the proposals are meant to improve the European Union’s response in a potential repeat of supply disruption.
