Iraqi Kurds defend gas upstream accord with RWE

Iraq’s Kurdish authorities claimed a recent accord with Germany’s RWE to tap hydrocarbon resources in the semi-autonomous region in northern Iraq would be “legal and constitutional”, despite the Iraqi oil ministry stressing the oil and gas finds in Iraqi Kurdistan are federal resources.
