Ukraine’s foreign minister urges Gazprom to drop South Stream – reports

Ukraine is reportedly trying to persuade Gazprom to drop plans to build the proposed South Stream pipeline under the Black Sea into Europe, bypassing Ukraine. Foreign minister Kostyantyn Gryshchenkothat was quoted as saying in London on Monday that the $12.9 billion project is “wasteful” and “unnecessary”.
