World LNG Summit 2009

The mood of the delegates at CWC’s annual LNG Summit in Barcelona in December was reasonably positive despite it taking place at the end of a year which has seen falling natural gas demand in most markets, prices at 50% or less of their peak in 2008 and LNG production significantly less than expected because of delays in the start-up of new projects and lower output from operating projects as technical problems and gas supply shortfalls interrupted production. Those who attended the sessions were treated to some lively debate on key issues facing the LNG business as it moves into the second decade of the 21st century.
