Greece ponders LNG options in the face of gas shortfall

Although the pace of development of Greece’s market has been sluggish, natural gas is expected to gradually take a greater share in the country’s energy mix.  LNG could potentially play a key role though it will face competition from planned transnational pipelines and much will also depend on the political will to liberalise its markets and push towards a greater use of cleaner fuels.
