Ichthys FID puts Australia on track to become largest LNG exporter by 2018
Last month’s final investment decision on the Ichthys LNG project means that Australia now has more LNG capacity in operation and under construction than Qatar. In other words, Australia is on a trajectory that will make it a bigger LNG exporter than Qatar by 2018, barring major problems at the newly sanctioned projects.
