Trinidad & Tobago LNG: The future of “Train X”

Fears over dwindling reserves and depressed global gas prices have cast doubts over Trinidad & Tobago’s aspirations to both expand its LNG export capacity and develop its local petrochemical industry. The twin island state is the Caribbean’s leading producer of oil and gas – accounting for about 40% of Trinidad & Tobago’s GDP and 80% of exports – and consequently it is one of the wealthiest countries in the region. LNG Business Review examines whether further LNG production capacity, either as the long-mooted “Train X” project, or in another guise, will become a reality soon
