Development of Venezuela’s Mariscal Sucre gas field to begin in December

Venezuela will finally begin production at its Mariscal Sucre offshore gas field in December after years of delays, according to a statement from state energy company Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) on Saturday. The field has estimated total gas reserves of 14.7 Tcf, but development has been delayed due to difficulty in attracting investors and escalating development costs.
