Esso Australia fined A$2 million in Longford court case

Victoria Supreme Court judge Philip Cummins has fined Esso Australia A$2 million ($1 million) after it was found guilty by a jury of 11 charges relating to an explosion at its Longford natural gas plant in September 1998 (Gas Matters, October 1998, p1).
