Speaking in Gazprom’s “Blue Fuel” corporate newsletter released on Thursday, Gazprom Marketing & Trading USA managing director John Hattenberger said that a confluence of factors will prevent the US shale gas revolution – or “shale gale” – from being replicated elsewhere. His comments echo cautious views expressed by majors such as Shell and shale gas explorer San Leon that “above ground” risks – such as politics and environmental concerns – will define the speed of developments.
