Franco-Belgian utility GDF SUEZ on Thursday made a £6 billion ($9.6 billion) offer to acquire the remaining 30% stake in International Power that it does not already own. GDF SUEZ bought 70% of International Power last year, and the move for full ownership will “provide significant benefits to both businesses”, GDF SUEZ said
