Merger of North German gas market regions will be in place from October 1, 2009

Yesterday the new operating company of the expanded North German gas market region, Gaspool, announced that the new market regions will be in place from October 1, 2009. This starting date was anticipated by all shippers but was never previously confirmed by Gaspool. The new market region will encompass the high cal network systems of GasunieD, Ontras – VNG Gastransport and Wingas Transport. In addition the shares of StatoilHydro in the NETRA pipeline and of Dong Energy Pipelines in the DEUDAN pipeline are also included in the new market regions.
