The North European Gas Pipeline (NEL) – a joint project of Wingas, E.ON Ruhrgas and Gasunie – has obtained planning approval from one of the two federal state authorities through which it will pass - Mecklenburg-West Pomerania. Green light for the pipeline section in Lower Saxony is expected to be given “in the next few days”. Construction of the 20 Bcm/year pipeline is slated to commence in March.
