RWE’s Judisch laments “golden age of subsidies”

Despite the IEA’s prediction in its World Energy Outlook 2011 that the energy sector is entering a “golden age of gas”, the fuel has so far failed to secure its rightful place in the energy mix, according to RWE supply and trading CEO Stefan Judisch. Gas is losing out on investment, which is favouring the certainty of subsidised renewables. “We are in a golden age of subsidies for renewables in Europe,” Judisch said at the Flame conference in Amsterdam on Tuesday.
