This summer, Tesla Motors formed Tesla Energy (TE) and began selling lithium-ion battery packs that enable homeowners to benefit from cheap, off-peak and renewables-generated electricity. Tesla is also selling a larger, 100 Kwh ‘Powerpack’ to enable similar flexibility for commercial and industrial customers, and even to electric power utilities themselves.
