The Energy Industries Council (EIC), headquartered in London, is one of the world’s largest energy trade associations for companies that supply goods and services to the energy industries worldwide. According to its CEO, Stuart Broadley, after the wave of can-do optimism surrounding net zero that swept the supply chain in 2020-21, the sector will now only pursue sustainable opportunities if they make economic sense. The fundamental problem with climate action policy, he stresses, is that it remains driven by noble intentions but falls short on funding.
