Transforming an economy through LNG exports

Natural resources are a mainstay of national economies, but only if you can market those resources successfully. For this South American NOC well-used to domestic gas production, that meant entering the global LNG market as an exporter. Doing so successfully would be transformational for the country’s economy, adding up to 1% to its GDP.
Jan 2026 Gas Strategies

As with many of our relationships, we are not only setting the high-level strategy for the NOC’s evolution into a global LNG player. We are also partnering with them through deployment, advising on their portfolio strategy and securing the buy-in of partners and government. On the way, we are building the processes, skills and abilities they will need to become a credible global player in LNG and unlock the economic growth the project promised.

An injection of pace and capability

Speed in business is always a competitive advantage. We gave this NOC that advantage, accelerating the process and taking the project to FEED and positioning for FID in just over 12 months. That speed is only possible thanks to our seasoned, senior team of practitioners with an intimate understanding of building the physical and commercial LNG value chains that would give the NOC access to the global market.

Creating a robust value chain, end-to-end

To attract finance and secure FID the NOC needs a commercial structure that can connect every stop in the LNG value chain and meet local regulations. We created a ‘ready to go’ commercial framework that was fully integrated with the tax, legal, technical and commercial teams that would be responsible for its roll out. Validated by legal and financial advisors, the model was not just practical and workable from day one. We built into it the flexibility the NOC will need as a new player in global LNG markets to maximise long-term value.

A clear, credible go-to-market story

Clarity on every aspect of the value chain is arming the NOC with a clear and credible marketing story that provides the basis for negotiation with the more experienced and successful LNG buyers they are currently in dialogue with.

The project we are partnering on is just the first step in unlocking the potential of this South American economy’s natural resources. Others will follow now that the NOC’s leadership has a clear strategy and a team increasingly skilled in the demands of the global LNG market.
