David Dalton

David Dalton provides expert and advisory support in complex gas supply disputes, bringing together deep experience of upstream project evaluation, development and delivery with upstream commercial contract disputes.

He has experience as expert witness addressing countrywide supply risks, gas system operating risks and constraints, as well as non-technical energy policy and political risks.

Before his advisory career, David Dalton spent over 35 years with BP in numerous upstream roles across the globe. His expertise spans the whole upstream value chain from exploration and appraisal to project evaluation, major project delivery, economic evaluation and contract negotiation. David spent over 20 years of his time with BP living and working in North Africa and the Middle East, culminating in the role of Regional President for the Middle East with accountability for all BP’s upstream interests in the region.

This experience gives David a deep understanding of all aspects of the upstream oil and gas supply business from technical, through project management, commercial and stakeholder management at the highest levels.
