Dr. David J Drury brings decades of experience in the commercial side of natural gas and LNG and is acknowledged as a leading commercial expert on LNG contracts. He has advised owners, lenders and buyers on a wide range of LNG commercial issues and has provided expert advice in over 30 major LNG transactions, advising on commercial structures, risks, contracts, pricing and markets. He has also supported a range of clients in development and restructuring of LNG projects and in preparing for and organising LNG commercial operations.
David has worked on a number of gas and LNG-related disputes, including strength of case assessments as well as providing expert testimony in several dispute cases held in London and Hong Kong.
Prior to his consultancy career, David Drury held a number of senior posts in BP’s upstream and gas business. He led BP’s entry into Algeria in the 1990s, established a major marketing joint venture with Sonatrach and was BP’s country head in Turkey.
David’s wide and deep commercial experience in gas and LNG (both as industry practitioner and consultant) is supported by an active current consulting portfolio, where he advises on major LNG developments keeping him current with the most recent industry developments.
