Gulf Canada subsidiary Asamera, which recently made a significant gas find in north Sumatra (Gas Mailers, April 30, 199visual_editor, page 1) this month announced another gas find in Indonesia. Sambar-1, a wildcat well drilled by Asamera Overseas, has hit gas in south Sumatra. The well is 55 kms northwest of Asamera's Ramba field in the corridor block PSC area. Gas flowed at a cumulative rate of 6.95 MMcfd from four zones between the depths of 1,545 and 1,598 metres. Additional drilling is planned for next year, in order to determine the extent of the discovery.
