South African fuels and chemicals company Sasol plans to build two gas plants in the US to take advantage of a glut of natural gas resulting from shale gas production. The company said on Monday it has already carried out feasibility studies on a gas-to-liquids (GTL) project and an ethane cracker complex, and will proceed with front-end engineering and design (FEED) work on both.
