India's Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved the award of seven coal-bed methane (CBM) blocks after the fourth round of bids. Mumbai-based Essar Oil won four blocks, a consortium led by Australia's Arrow Energy won two, and one was awarded to Great Eastern Energy Corporation. The CCEA also awarded one oil exploration block under the New Exploration Licensing Policy (NELP).
