Wintershall, the gas and oil unit of Germany's BASF, has had its $740 million bid for the Norwegian independent Revus cleared by Norway's competition regulator. The British government's department of energy, which regulates UK E&P licenses held by Revus, also cleared Wintershall's bid. The company is still awaiting clearance from the Norwegian energy ministry.
