Reliance Industries (RIL) suggested reserves in its KG D6 basin off India’s eastern coast may not be sufficient to sustain production of more than 60 MMcm/d of gas for now. However, the New Delhi government has already allocated 64 MMcm/d of gas from the KG D6 fields to consumers in the power, fertilisers, steel and refineries sectors.
