Czech utility CEZ has withdrawn from plans to build a new 400 MW gas-fired power plant at Galati in Romania due to high project costs. The company said it would instead focus financial resources on finishing construction of a €1 billion ($1.34 billion) wind park in south-eastern Romania and on its stake in the proposed nuclear power plant in Cernavoda.
