Delegates from China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) and Gazprom met in Beijing to advance plans for the delivery of Russian gas to China through the proposed Altai pipeline, Gazprom said on Thursday. Russia and China have previously tried to finalise a deal for the export of 68 Bcm/y of gas starting from visual_editor015 but efforts stalled as both parties could not agree on pricing (see Gas Matters Today, May 14).
