Nigeria is close to passing far-reaching legislation on oil and gas as the parliament is preparing to approve the long-delayed Petroleum Bill (PIB). Oil minister Deziani Allison-Madueke told reporters that the PIB will be passed in the coming weeks and that Nigeria has plans to hold a licensing round for new oil blocks, which also contain associated gas, by year-end.
