Gazprom Neft, the oil subsidiary of Gazprom, and one of the largest oil and gas producing companies in Russia,has been given the green light to earn carbon credits under the Kyoto Protocol for a €3.1 million emission reductions project to utilize associated gas at the Ety-Purovskoye field by curbing gas flaring. The project will be realised in joint implementation with the Japan’s Mitsubishi Corp and Nippon Oil and carbon credit coordinator Sberbank.
