US majors Chevron and Occidental, as well as Australia’s Woodside Petroleum and Abu Dhabi-based Liwa Energy, have not extended their five-year oil and gas licenses in Libya, Hadj Fitouri, the exploration director of the country’s state-owned National Oil Company (NOC), told reporters. However Hess, Petrobras, Medco Energi, Oil India Limited and Sonatrach will all continue with their exploration efforts in the North African country, he added.
